Farmer’s violent protest in Nabinagar : what exactly is going on?
Nabinagar, Aurangabad: according to reports coming to the capital, a farmer named Raman Prajapati from village Akroha died in police action against agitating farmers at the Akroha railway station. The police used water cannons and lathis to disperse landowners protesting at the terms offered by the NTPC for the acquisition of 1700 acres of land. The farmers argue that they should be paid compensation at the same rates as a neighbouring plant owned by the NTPC-Indian Railways.
