   By Bihardays Team  HAZARIBAGH: With Bihar going to the polls from October 21,  police teams  from Bihar and Jharkhand  will keep a hawk’s eye  on movement of Naxalites and criminals in the districts bordering the two states.  At a high-level meeting of  senior police officers from Bihar and Jhakhand at Hazaribagh circuit house on Saturday, it was resolved that the Jharkhand police from Hazaribagh, Chatra and Koderma  districts that border Gaya and Nawadah districts respectively, will be on high alert to avoid disruptive activities during the Bihar elections.  North Chhotonagpur...

Ranchi: Jharkhand will join an ambitious crime and criminal tracking network system (CCTNS) project of the Union Home Ministry to keep tab on crime and criminals in the state.   With Jharkhand turning out  a favoured destination for investors, the nature of crime has also varied considerably, say police sources. The newly installed Arjun Munda government has given its go ahead to the plan at the first cabinet meeting, to drive home that it is serious  towards bringing about qualitative change in approach of policing,. In the wake of the encounter with the Maoists and nine-day-long hostage situation, Bihar Chief secretary Anup Mukherjee and director-general of police Neel Mani directed the police officers in charge of operations in Lakhisarai, Jamui, Munger and Banka districts in east Bihar, to identify the men behind the killing ofpolicemen.
