Money Tree
by Ranjan Varma
MoneyTree is back. To some of you who doubted if the MoneyTree was dead, let me assure you that the “Tree” was growing roots that were not visible above the ground!
You must have heard of the tale of two friends who planted seeds at the same time. While one friend was happy that a sapling sprouted up in quick time, the other friend was worried as there were no signs of anything coming up from the seed he planted.
However in time, while the first sapling grew up to be a shrub, the other plant that took it’s own sweet time, grew into a giant Tree. Yes, you guessed it right that the second seed was growing strong roots to make a solid foundation for the giant tree.
For the allegory to hold good for the “Money Tree”, your question would be, what was growing under? Well, I am happy to announce that I have completed the manuscript for a complete book on personal finance management for all the non-finance guys.
The book on personal finance would answer your questions about money management. Examples of such questions that you may have is as follows:
-
Are you sure about having taken the best financial decisions in your life?
-
Are you aware of the cost of free advice?
-
Do you know how to get better, professional, independent and honest financial advice?
-
Do you know that your agent/advisor may be selling you a financial product that you don’t really need?
-
Are you buying products that you don’t really understand?
-
Do the financial products that you bought suit your investor profile?
-
Have you taken corrective action about the above if your answer was “yes”? Do you know how to take corrective action for the above?
The book will facilitate finding all the answers.
Even though you know about the importance of managing money, you get bogged down by the “perceived” complexities of the task. So here’s a promise. Once you reach the end of the book, you will know that managing your money is really very simple.
But the challenge is to take that journey of personal finance and read to the end of this book! Because most people tend to avoid personal finance and secondly reading a book is fast becoming out of fashion.
So, let me promise again. Reading this book would be a breeze of simplicity. Provided you read through.
We all know the truth that spoon feeding can be costly. And there’s no free lunch really. You can get a lot of spoon feeders in the financial services industry waiting to tell you about a super product. But most of them have their own hidden agenda.
The Agents, Advisors and Relationship Managers, who assure you that “Main Hoon Na!”, and dole out free advice are essentially giving you ready made recommendations. These ready made recommendations are mostly commission based advice. And this can hurt your financial health in the long run in a way that you may not really understand. The book will help you understand the dangers of readymade, free advice.
Lights, Camera and Action Steps on Money Management
Any movie takes you just two-three hours to see. But the making of the movie comprises of thousands of hours going into story writing, screenplay, actors’ selection, and the shooting itself, scene by scene.
The structure of this book is similar to the making of a movie. Lights, Camera and Action is their buzz word and we’ll use them for setting up our own finances.
MoneyTree will bring you updates on the book and will publish some of the chapters for free on BiharDays. Especially for BiharDays readers. Stay tuned
