Historical Gandhi Maidan all set for another historical moment today…

The historical Gandhi Maidan from where Jai Prakash Narayan changed the political course of India, is now all set to witness another historical moment, the swearing in ceremony of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Although for his previous term also he took oath at Gandhi Maidan, but this time it becomes even more special, as people have have given him huge mandate, a massive one.

Thousands of people from different parts of the state have already arrived here and more are likely to reach before Nitish Kumar formally takes oath at 2.30 p.m.


While talking to media Patna District Magistrate Jitendra Kumar said, “We have made elaborate arrangements for the function and deployed over 4,000 security personnel in and around Gandhi Maidan.”

When Kumar takes oath at 230 pm, it will be his third term as the Chief Minister of the state which he lifted out of hopelessness since taking over in 2005, and was rewarded by the voters with a landslide victory in this election

The swearing in ceremony is at Gandhi Maidan here at 2.30 pm. He would be administered the oath by Governor Devananda Konwar.

BJP’s Sushil Kumar Modi will take oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state.

Along with thousands of people, watching Nitish Kumar being sworn in today afternoon, would be the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) top leadership, which includes Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) chief Nitin Gadkari, senior leaders LK Advani, Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley as well as JD-U president Sharad Yadav.
