Patna: A.N.College, Patna has reached another academic milestone with its selection as a collaborating partner in the higher education India for EU II Project under the ERASMUS MUNDUS Action 2 Programme. The acceptance of the project was notified through e-mail by M.S. Silvia Carosso, Dept. of International Agffairs, Politecnico di Torino, Italy. This international project proposal has been rated as “Very Good” by the EACEA. The Indo- European Research initiative will be coordinated by Politecnico di Torino (POLITO), Italy, and by Amrita University, Coimbatore, and has nine European partners and 9 Indian partnering universities and institutions. Principal, Dr. Haridwar Singh stated that “India for EU” project will provide opportunities to the faculty and students of A.N.College for international exposure through fellowships and scholarships at different levels.

A.N. College has already obtained the distinction of being rated as the best performing teaching and research partner in the Erasmus Mundus EURINDIA Project, 2009-2013. This collaboration with 3 European Universities since 2010 has yielded rich academic dividends in the form of student internships and exchange programmes, faculty exchange programmes, preparation of new research proposals, and publication and presentation of research papers. All the Erasmus Mundus initiatives are being coordinated by Dr. Ashok Kumar Ghosh, Prof.-in-Charge, Dept. of EWM, from this college, assisted by Prof. Shatrunjay Kumar Singh, Dr. Arun Kumar and Dr. Nupur Bose.
Dr. Haridwar Singh conveyed his thanks to University of Torino, Italy and European Commission for including this college in this prestigious faculty and student exchange program. The present IndiaEU Project will open fresh opportunities particularly in the fields of Environment Management, Water Sciences, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Nanotechnology, Geosciences, Electronics and Material Sciences.
