Bihar signs agreement for purchase of more electricity
Patna: two agreements have been were signed by the Bihar government with the NTPC and Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO) respectively, for setting up of thermal power plants in Aurangabad and in Buxar districts.
According to reports, together the plants at Nabinagar in Aurangabad and at Chausa in Buxar, are estimated to generate 1320 MW of electricity each.
While the Nabinagar plant will be a joint collaboration of BSEB with NTPC, it will be a first time for KRIBHCO – it would make an entry in the power sector with its first thermal power plant at Chausa.
According to the agreement, Bihar would consume 85 per cent of 1320 MW power generated by the KRIBHCO at Chausa and 75 per cent of the total generation from the plant at Nabinagar.
