Senior JD(U) leader and five time M.L.A from Islamgan constituency, Uday Narain Chaudhary is all set to become speaker for the second term on Decemeber 2.
Adressing the media, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said, “ Uday Narain Chaudhary would be NDA’s candidate for the post of speaker in the house.”
This announcement by Nitish himself leaves nothing to doubt and the election for the speaker is now a mere formality.

Nitish led coalition created a record by winning 206 seats in Bihar after seperation of Jharkhand, while he missed the another one by whisker that is percentage of assembly seats. Congress led by Srikrishna singh won 239 seats out of 276 seats that time that is 86.59 % while Nitish led coalition won 84.77% 0f asembly seats.
This is the third time that any party or combination has got more than 3/4 majority. In 1951 & 1957 election Congress got 3/4th majority, that makes Nitish the only non congress leader to lead a coalition...

Nitish Kumar took oath as 34th Chief Minister of Bihar, with BJP leader Sushil Kumar as his deputy in historical Gandhi maidan in presence of more than 30 thousand people. Congratulations on the massive victory. Although there was never a doubt about the victory, but I must admit I was not expecting such a thumping majority. People all over the state have voted for you cutting across the caste,class,community and other factors which used to be dominant in earlier elections. You have given us a sense of pride now, people are not ashamed to call themselves “Bihari” in any part of India for the matter, world. I personally thank you for that.

Seats won in previous assembly elections:
NDA: 143 seats (JD (U) 88 + BJP 55)
RJD + : 64 seats ( RJD 54 Others 10)
Congress: 09 seats
Others: 27 seats
Few conclusions from the above data, this has been so far the worst performance by Congress and RJD in assembly elections. With Rahul magic failing to work and well, he campaigned for 19 constituencies and Congress lost from all those places where he campaigned.
